Duties of the Quality Committee

The Unit Quality Committee is composed of faculty members from different disciplines—preferably those with experience in quality—administrative staff, and a student representative of the unit, under the chairmanship of a Vice Dean appointed by the Dean. The term of office of the Unit Quality Committee members is three (3) years.

In general, the duty of the Unit Quality Committee is to ensure the evaluation of academic and administrative services, the improvement of quality, and the execution of all activities related to the accreditation process in line with the unit’s strategic plan and objectives.

Duties of the Unit Quality Committee:

  • To prepare the unit’s strategic plan,
  • To ensure the evaluation of academic and administrative services, the improvement of quality, and the implementation of all activities related to the accreditation process in line with the unit’s strategic plan and objectives,
  • To prepare the Unit Internal Evaluation Report,
  • To make the necessary preparations for certification and subsequent evaluation processes to be carried out by independent assessment organizations regarding the Quality Management System in the unit, and to provide all necessary support to these organizations,
  • To communicate the decisions of the Quality Committee to the relevant departments, programs, and sub-units of the unit; to contribute to their implementation and monitor the outcomes,
  • To submit an annual report on their activities to the Quality Committee by the end of January,
  • To carry out other necessary activities in accordance with this Directive and the procedures and principles determined by the Quality Committee.

The Unit Quality Committee convenes at least four times in each academic year. In addition, it may convene upon the call of the Chair or upon a written request by the absolute majority of its members.
