The Monthly Zero Waste Themes to be implemented in 2026 have been determined by the Directorate General of Environmental Management under the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

The aim is to ensure implementation unity, strengthen zero waste awareness across society, support the continuity of environmental consciousness, and integrate sustainable living habits into daily life.

A strong awareness process is being launched across all 81 provinces with a unified message and discourse for all stakeholders, including students, teachers, families, public institutions, businesses, and local administrations.

Throughout 2026, the designated zero waste themes aim to strengthen zero waste awareness across all segments of society, reduce waste generation, promote efficient and effective use of resources, establish a lasting recycling culture, and contribute to the development of sustainable living habits.

January Theme: “Prevent, Reduce, Reuse”

Within the scope of the 2026 monthly Zero Waste themes, awareness materials for January have been published. Emphasizing the approach of “Don’t Throw Away, Repair, Don’t Buy New, Share,” the initiative aims to highlight the importance of preventing waste at its source, reducing waste, and reusing materials, thereby spreading zero waste awareness across all segments of society.
