Due to reaching the retirement age limit, Prof. Dr. Mahmut Bozan has handed over his position as Head of Department to Associate Professor Dr. Ömer Baykal.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Mahmut Bozan stated that he has served in the public sector for 51 years and expressed that he will continue his academic life by giving lectures and conducting scientific research. Emphasizing that young academics have great ambitions, he noted that these aspirations will advance academia further. He also stated that the department started this journey with a limited group of colleagues, that the academic staff has gradually strengthened over time, and that it has now gained an institutional identity.

The Acting Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Metin Şaban, presented a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Mahmut Bozan for his valuable contributions to the department and the faculty. The new Head of Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömer Baykal, presented a plaque to Prof. Dr. Mahmut Bozan in gratitude for his efforts. Additionally, Research Assistant Dr. Leyla Çiftçi presented a gift to Prof. Dr. Mahmut Bozan on behalf of the department members.

The ceremony concluded with well wishes extended to Prof. Dr. Mahmut Bozan and a commemorative group photograph.
